No More Excuses: Why Racial Discrimination Must Be Criminalized Worldwide

Racism is not just an opinion. It is violence. It is exclusion. It is humiliation that scars individuals and entire communities. Yet in many countries, racist acts are still dismissed as “social issues” rather than treated as crimes.

It is time to change that. The world must adopt a binding international criminal code that explicitly criminalizes acts of racism—from verbal abuse and daily humiliations to institutional exclusion and systemic bias.

And above all, it must punish police violence targeting Black people, one of the most visible and deadly forms of racial injustice today.

Why Criminalization Matters

Zero Tolerance for Racism
Insults, humiliation, and discrimination are not minor incidents. They are violations of human dignity and must be met with legal consequences, not silence.

Accountability for Police Violence
When law enforcement becomes a tool of racial oppression, trust collapses. A global legal framework is necessary to ensure that police officers and institutions that target Black communities are held criminally responsible.

Protecting Generations to Come
By criminalizing racism, we send a clear message: the world will not allow hate and violence to define the future.
